A suburban Chicago heavy duty forklift manufacturer is pulling up its roots and moving 25 miles southeast to an Indiana location, which will save it $1 million a year in workers’ compensation costs as well as other benefits, according to a story in Crains Chicago Business.
Hoist Liftruck will move its plant from Bedford Park, Illinois, to a new location in East Chicago, Indiana, taking 300 jobs with it.
“The environment isn’t friendly for what I do (in Illinois),” Marty Flaska, Hoist’s president and CEO, said in the story.
