Agent Convicted of Stealing $20,000 in Premiums

A former agent was sentenced to 60 days in jail and ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution after being convicted of stealing workers’ compensation and general liability premiums, the California Department of Insurance Announced. Kannai David Scantlen, 41, operated Kan I Save Insurance Services in Valley Springs. He was sentenced April 6 and to date has repaid $11,000 to his victims, according to the Insurance Department.
