Illinois Central Management Services is suing Attorney General Lisa Madigan over her alleged failure to defend the position that the state is not liable for workers' compensation benefits to 30,000 personal assistants assigned to disabled clients through the state's Home Services Program, according to several news reports.
The suit stems from a workers' compensation claim by care assistant Stephanie Yencer-Price, who was paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services but employed by the person who hired her to look after them, CMS says.
