Idaho firefighters converged on the Capitol to request a hearing on whether certain cancers should be covered by the state's workers' compensation system, according to a report by KTVB.
The state Senate in 2014 passed a bill that would have established a presumption that certain cancers suffered by long-time firefighters are occupational in nature. The House of Representatives never called for a vote on the measure.
Firefighters are reportedly set to introduce a similar measure this year.
