A bill has been introduced in Congress that would establish a committee to recommend actions that the Department of Labor could take to address opioid abuse in the workplace.
H.R. 5892 was introduced on May 21 by Reps. Jason Lewis, R-Minnesota, and Matt Cartwright, D-Pennsylvania. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
The Advisory Committee would consist of 19 members appointed by the labor secretary. It would include representatives of employers and employer groups, employees, workplace safety experts, human resources professionals, medical doctor...
