Employers, Insurers No Longer Required to Provide Duplicate FROI Forms

Effective July 1, the state Workers’ Compensation Commission will provide data from First Report of Injury forms to the state Division of Labor & Industry, relieving employers and insurers of the responsibility of providing DLI duplicate copies.The change results from a new regulation that requires the DLI to accept FROI data that are prepared and issued by the commission exclusively.The following fields must be completed on FROI forms and are required by Maryland Occupational Safety and Health, a unit of DLI: type of injury/illness, date of death (if applicable) and initial treatmen...
