OSHA Says Bakery Continually Exposed Workers to Amputations

Five weeks after a 28-year-old maintenance worker lost part of his right arm at Cincinnati-based Klosterman Baking Co., OSHA inspectors investigating the accident found another worker exposed to the same amputation hazard. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says in a news release that it has proposed $147,000 in penalties for one willful and two serious violations related to an improperly guarded bread-wrapping machine.
