The New York State Workers' Compensation Board will now allow insurance carriers, self-insurers and third-party administrators to electronically sign waiver agreements for lump-sum settlements.
The board announced this week that it has developed an e-signature form for Section 32 waiver agreements, in keeping with payers' current business practices. The form should be used by payers to affirm that the electronic signature conforms to the requirements and is binding for the agreement.
