Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is scheduled to sign the "agreed bill" developed by the Workers' Compensation Advisory Council at a ceremony in Madison today.Senate Bill 409 by Sen. Van Wanggaard, R-Racine, was passed by the Senate by a 33 to 0 vote on Feb. 21 and by the House of Representatives by 94 to 0 on March 15.SB 409 would increase permanent disability benefits, but offset the cost by changing a formula for reimbursing medical bills.Following the signing, the bill must be published not later than 10 days, and will become effective the day after publication.
