By Mark Larson, ReporterA Brandeis University report calls for medical insurers to have access to prescription drug-monitoring data as a way to reduce overdoses, deaths and health care costs that it says may exceed $70 billion annually to all health insurers that come with the abuse of opioids and other prescription drugs.Having such access to the data can help assure quality medical care and mitigate drug abuse, the report concluded.
