The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors on Friday approved a 12% rate reduction for private employers, effective July 1.
BWC estimates that the rate reduction will save private employers in the BWC system $164 million, compared to this year’s premiums.
The bureau’s private employer rates have decreased or stayed flat every year since 2007. The last rate reduction was in 2016. Public rates have also fallen, including a 6.1% reduction that took effect on Jan. 1.
