Florida medical providers will get their first pay raise in eight years on July 1, in the form of an updated Health Care Provider Reimbursement Manual.
Gov. Rick Scott on Friday signed into law House Bill 1402, a measure that ratifies the updated fee schedule adopted by the state Division of Workers' Compensation last July.
The National Council on Compensation Insurance estimated the fee schedule update will increase system costs by $64 million annually. Florida state lawmakers have not approved an update to the maximum allowable fees for health care providers since 2008.
