Members of the committee created to advise the California Division of Workers’ Compensation on evidence-based updates to the prescription drug formulary will discuss four-day special fill allowance for some exempt drugs, during its Wednesday meeting in Oakland.
Formulary rules that went into effect at the start of 2018 designate drugs that can be prescribed without prospective review as “exempt.” Prior approval is required to prescribe drugs designated as “non-exempt,” as well as compounds and medications that aren’t listed in the formulary.
