Montana lawmakers are considering a bill that would do away with a statute that caps indemnity benefits at the state’s average weekly wage.
Rep. Derek Harvey, D-Butte, on Wednesday told members of the House Committee on Business and Labor that the cap frustrates efforts to ensure indemnity benefits are related to the actual lost wages. Although the committee heard testimony on Harvey’s HB 923, it did not vote on the measure.
