Officials at California’s workplace safety regulatory agency on Tuesday urged the state’s employers to prepare to protect workers from unhealthy air due to wildfire smoke.
The Division of Occupational Health and Safety, commonly referred to as Cal/OSHA, said employers are required to take steps that include changing the location of work operations, providing respiratory protection and modifying schedules when workers might be exposed to unhealthy air.
