DWC Terminates QME Status for Two Docs Who Admitted Involvement in Kickback Scheme

California's Division of Workers' Compensation revoked qualified medical evaluator certification from a pair of doctors accused of accepting kickbacks for patient referrals in connection with the Pacific Hospital of Long Beach case. The division's online list of disciplined physicians indicates the QME status of Dr. Mitchell Cohen was revoked effective Dec. 7.
