A bill that would increase payments for medical-legal exams by 50% was referred to the Assembly Insurance Committee as California lawmakers attempt to pass measures carried over from last year ahead of key deadlines in January.
Assembly Bill 1832, introduced by Assemblyman Rudy Salas, D-Bakersfield, and co-authored by Assemblywoman Eloise Gomez Reyes, D-San Bernardino, would increase the conversion factor used to calculate payments for qualified medical evaluators to “at least” $18.75.
