The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation adopted rules allowing longer terms of service on the Medical Quality Review Panel.
The amended rules eliminate the 10-year lifetime service limit, split up into two-year terms, for membership on the Medical Quality Review Panel. The new rules will allow members to be appointed for 10-year terms and to submit a new application for membership after the term expires.
The panel assists the DWC medical director in conducting medical case reviews to ensure injured workers get timely care.
