Unprotected Trench Prompts OSHA Citations for 6th Time in 10 Years

After an inspector for the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration spotted workers doing excavation work at an unprotected trench, the agency initiated an investigation that led to $124,300 in proposed fines. OSHA cited Oscar Renda Contracting for one willful, 11 serious and two other violations. OSHA said it had investigated Oscar Renda six times in 10 years and cited the company each time for similar violations.
