Lawmakers Reintroduce Bill to Expand Provider Options for Federal Workers

Members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate reintroduced legislation that would expand health care provider options for injured federal workers. Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, on Jan. 30 introduced S 131, the same day Reps. Joe Courtney, D-Conn., and Tim Walberg, R-Mich., introduced HR 618. The identical companion measures would amend the Federal Employees' Compensation Act to allow injured workers to receive treatment for work-related injuries from state-licensed physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
