More Lawsuits Allege Defective Hardware Used in Fusion at PHLB

Two more lawsuits filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court allege defective and inadequate hardware was implanted in the backs of workers' compensation patients during fusion procedures performed at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. Frank Gomez, 52, and Abraham Pena, 35, said in lawsuits filed Dec. 4 that their surgeons used hardware purchased from International Implants that failed to meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration standards.
