Six years after the Tennessee legislature's overhaul of the state workers' comp system, the number of appeals to the state Supreme Court has dwindled to a fraction of what it once was, according to the Bureau of Workers' Compensation's Annual Report.
“One goal of the reform was less litigation at all levels, including in the Tennessee Supreme Court, and there has been a marked reduction of workers’ compensation appeals to the Supreme Court in the past five years,” reads the 2018-2019 report.
