The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division is holding a hearing Sept. 18 to discuss the annual assessment that finances the Workers’ Benefit Fund.
The analysis to determine the rate is ongoing and the proposed assessment will be announced by mid-September, the WCD said.
The WBF assessment pays for return-to-work programs and cost-of-living increases for injured workers with permanent and total disabilities. Employers are required to pay at least half of the assessment and can deduct up to half from workers’ wages.
