Following settlements with at least four states over false premium reports and underpayment of workers' compensation assessments, American International Group (AIG) is the target of a separate probe led by Indiana on behalf of regulators in 26 other states.
California is also conducting its own investigation of AIG, officials there said.
Indiana regulators said Friday they will not limit their review to the 1985-1996 time period covered by the $1.64 billion settlement AIG reached in February 2006 with New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, who is now governor.
