New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill adopting different compensability standards for mental health claims that depend on the work performed by the claimant.
The governor on Friday signed Senate Bill 775, by Sen. Jessica Ramos, D-Queens.
The bill adds a new statute for nonemergency workers prohibiting the State Workers' Compensation Board from disallowing a mental injury claim based on the finding that the stress was not greater than normal when:
