Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan’s successful cancer battle during his first term has spurred him to use his position to help cancer victims, and his latest effort along those lines would expand the state’s list of cancers eligible for presumption benefits for firefighters.
As the Washington Post noted in a recent feature on Hogan, a popular Republican in an otherwise deep blue state, his fight against non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma “remains a defining and potent element of his political biography.”
