OIEC: Carriers Should Pay for Designated Doctor Testimony

Texas' advocate for injured workers is recommending legislation that would require insurance carriers to pay designated doctors to examine injured workers to provide expert testimony as to whether their injuries are compensable. The Office of Injured Employee Counsel also calls for carriers to alternatively contribute unspecified funds to an expert witness program to help injured workers without enough resources to pay for such testimony.
