A Western New York man has pleaded guilty to fraudulently collecting some $1.2 million in benefits from the federal government, the Associated Press reported.
Prosecutors said that Richard Klaffka, 59, falsely claimed that his mobility was limited due to a 1978 military injury. His wife, Cathleen, 62, would push him in a wheelchair at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Buffalo to support the fraud, prosecutors said.
