Proposals to create a presumption that certain diseases are compensable for workers at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation surfaced briefly as Washington state lawmakers went to the brink in their negotiations over next year’s budget. A Hanford worker presumption measure that died in the Senate during the regular session was reintroduced during each of the three special sessions lawmakers needed to agree on a budget. And a new bill was introduced during the first special session in May and reintroduced in the second and third special sessions also proposing a presumption for Hanford workers...
