A claims adjuster for the State Compensation Insurance Fund was charged with conspiring to process false insurance claims that paid $1.6 million to a Southern California chiropractor, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Claims adjuster Agop Sarafian, 65, of La Crescenta, and chiropractor Shahe K. Topjian, 65, of Granada Hills, were each charged with one felony count of insurance fraud, county prosecutors said.
