Packaging Company Cited after Worker Gets Hand Caught in Printing Press

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Baton Rouge area office has cited Graphic Packaging International Inc. for 28 safety violations after a worker’s hand was caught in a moving printing press last June, OSHA announced in a release. The employee suffered a severe injury as a result of the incident at the company’s West Monroe packaging plant. OSHA’s proposed penalties for Graphic Packaging total $129,000.
