Oregon lawmakers passed a bill that would increase the threshold used to decide whether employment is “casual” and not subject to the state’s workers’ compensation laws.
House Bill 3188, by Rep. Paul Holvey, D-Eugene, would increase the threshold to $1,000 from $500. The bill would also require that the threshold be increased each year on July 1 based on changes to the state’s average weekly wage.
