An employee fired from a hair salon for talking with colleagues about the hazards of using a straightener containing formaldehyde will receive $165,000 from her former employer.
The one time receptionist at the Bronx, New York, salon was awarded $65,000 for lost wages and $100,000 in damages for pain and suffering, according to a federal consent judgment obtained by the U.S Department of Labor.
