A broad coalition of advocacy groups led by the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York is asking Gov. Andrew Cuomo to change the law holding contractors and property owners liable for all “elevation-related injuries,” regardless of fault.New York Labor Law Sections 240 and 241, commonly referred to as the “Scaffold Law,” is antiquated -- dating back to the 1880s -- and drives up insurance and building costs for private employers and government entities throughout the state.
