Employer Sanctioned for Closing Claim Without Attending Physician

The Oregon Court of Appeals upheld a determination that an employer unreasonably closed a worker’s claim when she did not have an attending physician. Melonie Cramer worked for Precision Castparts Corp. She suffered a shoulder injury at work in October 2017. Among a list of possible medical providers, Cramer chose to enroll in Kaiser Permanente's "Kaiser-On-The-Job" managed care organization for treatment of her injury.
