Despite a last-minute compromise crafted late Thursday, Oklahoma lawmakers adjourned Friday without acting on a bill to clean up workers’ compensation legislation and remove provisions deemed unconstitutional.
“The bill would have been a waste of legislative time because its changes still did not correct the fundamental unconstitutional aspects of the opt-out scheme,” said Bob Burke, an Oklahoma City workers’ compensation attorney who camped out at the Legislature on Thursday and Friday.
