The Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California yesterday updated its estimates for accident years 2002 through 2007, pegging 2004 costs at $17.9 billion, and potential total costs in 2007 going to $26.4 billion, inclusive of workforce growth and estimated self-insured's costs.The WCIRB's timed the release of this information "to assist the legislature and others interested in reform of the workers' compensation system."
