Workers’ compensation costs are emerging as a prominent issue in the Illinois governor’s race, with Gov. Pat Quinn responding this week to surging Republican challenger Bruce Rauner’s promises to reform a broken system.
On Wednesday, Quinn touted a recommendation for a 5.5% cut in advisory workers’ compensation rates as a sign that Illinois reform legislation passed in 2011 has taken hold and is saving employers hundreds of millions of dollars.
