Supreme Court Gets Writ Petition in Constitutional Challenge to IMR

The California Supreme Court is being asked to weigh in on the constitutionality of the state's independent medical review process. In late October, a unanimous panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal declared that IMR "is fundamentally fair and affords workers sufficient opportunities to present evidence and be heard." The 1st DCA then declined reconsideration of its ruling in Stevens v. WCAB (Outspoken Entertainment) last month.
