Michael Brian Swan, a former underwriter for The Hartford and executive for InsureVianet, died Jan. 15 at the Hartford Hospital Cancer Center. He was 67.
Swan went to work for The Hartford immediately after graduating from Mankato State University in Minnesota, according to an obituary in the Globe Gazette. He held various casualty underwriting roles for the carrier and specialized in the workers' compensation line. Swan retired from the Hartford in 2003 after 34 years working for the company. He then joined InsureVianet and worked there two years before retiring permanently.
