L&I Offering Grants for Safety, Return-to-Work Projects

Monday, June 25, 2018 | 0

The Washington Department of Labor and Industries is accepting applications for annual grants that can be used to develop training courses, purchase equipment or implement strategies to protect workers and make workplaces safer.

L&I said it will accept applications for the Safety and Health Investment Projects grant program through Sept. 21. Employers who qualify for grants can receive up to $175,000 to develop workplace safety programs. Employers who receive grant money are expected to complete projects within 18 months.

“Grants are also available for projects that develop new ways to help injured workers return to work,” the department said. “If employers can have the processes in place before an injury occurs, everybody benefits.”

The department said the return-to-work grant period is open until further notice.
