Vineyard Worker Jailed for Fraud

A worker in California’s wine country was sentenced to 45 days in jail for claiming a broken hand suffered in a fist fight was a work injury, the Napa Valley Register reported.Ivan Ruiz-Hernandez was also ordered to pay $1,297 in restitution under the terms of a March 7 plea agreement. He was convicted of misdemeanor charges of insurance fraud and making a false statement to obtain compensation.Hernandez told St. Supery Vineyards and Winder that he broke his hand after falling at work in February 2012. Investigators later learned that Hernandez was injured in an altercation several weeks...
