The majority of people with disabilities achieved their career goals when presented with individualized support from their employers in a study from Kansas University and The Hartford Insurance Group.
The study, which was presented in a white paper published Wednesday, put participants with disabilities through a program called the Self-Determined Career Development Model. The model involves a person-by-person choosing of goals, setting of plans and changing of behaviors. The study found that participants achieved about 80% of their goals.
