One quarter of New Jersey workers’ comp claims with more than seven days of lost time included services at ambulatory surgery centers, the highest rate among 18 states reviewed in a new series of studies.
In contrast, the percentage of claims with hospital outpatient services in New Jersey was 11%, the second-lowest rate found in the Workers Compensation Research Institute’s CompScope medical benchmark reports released last week.
