A police officer in San Jose has been charged with exploiting workers while operating a side security business, according to The Mercury News.
Robert Foster, a veteran officer with the San Jose Police Department, allegedly underpaid workers off the books and threatened deportation if they spoke up.
Foster never told the department that he owned the security business, which he used to hide millions of dollars in revenue and avoid taxes, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
