Worker Struck by Falling Object Gets Summary Judgment

A New York appellate court ruled that a worker was entitled to summary judgment on his Labor Law claim for injuries from being struck by a falling piece of metal. Case: Miller v Rerob LLC, No. 603 CA 20-00719, 08/16/2021, published. Facts: Sterling Miller worked for J&E Pile Driving Inc. as a laborer. Miller rigged a metal "Z sheet" to a crane and signaled the operator to hoist it even though a 600-pound metal "corner piece" was lying unsecured on top.
