House Bill 238, the fourth incarnation of a bill that would reduce benefits for workers who were intoxicated at the time of their injuries, has passed the Judiciary Committee.
The bill passed the committee Feb. 2 on a vote of 9-4, with all four "no" votes coming from Democrats. Two Democrats on the committee voted in favor of the bill. It is scheduled for its first hearing before the House Business and Employment Committee on Thursday. That committee consists of seven Republicans and six Democrats.
