WCRI: Medical Costs Higher, Growing Faster in States Without Fee Schedule

States without fee schedules paid the highest prices for medical services and saw the fastest growth in costs from 2008 to 2022, according to the Workers Compensation Research Institute. Prices paid for similar medical services in Florida were 31% below the median of the 36 states included in the analysis. Payments in Wisconsin, which doesn’t have a fee schedule, were 163% above the median.
