AIA Names John Degnan CEO

The American Insurance Association has named John Degnan its new president and CEO. The trade association, whose members are property-casualty insurance companies, announced the appointment on Wednesday.  Degnan's most recent job was as chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a position he held from 2014 until he resigned in August. Before Gov. Chris Christie appointed him to lead the transportation agency, Degnan was the vice chairman and chief operating officer of the property-casualty insurer Chubb Corp.
