Changes to Alaska’s fee schedule for 2020 will reduce total systemwide costs by 3.7%, according to the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development said NCCI reviewed the new medical fee schedule the Workers’ Compensation Board approved in early October to determine the effect it would have on system costs.
The new fee schedule reduces the work, practice expense and malpractice relative value units, which are used as part of the equation to calculate total reimbursement. The work RVU will be 1.03, compared to 1.27 last year....
